Ian Barron, DPM, FACFAS, a podiatric surgeon, completed his residency training at The Ohio State University and has since dedicated himself to advancing the field of foot and ankle surgery. As a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, he is board-certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, showcasing his expertise in complex interventions. Dr Barron is highly involved in resident education and research, emphasizing his commitment to excellence. Offering a comprehensive array of treatment options, including foot and ankle deformity correction, arthroscopic surgery, ligament and tendon repair, minimally invasive techniques, sports injuries, diabetic wound care, as well as complex limb salvage and fracture repair, he ensures patients receive the most up-to-date care possible. John Evans, DPM, FACFAS, DABFAS received his DPM from the Temple University College of Podiatric Medicine and has a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut. He is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (Foot and Ankle) and is Chief of Podiatry at Corewell Health (Beaumont) Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. He has served as Chair of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Health Policy and Practice Committee and as a Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee (CAC) representative for over 20 years and was the 2018 recipient of the APMA Award of Excellence. He served as the Podiatric representative to the PAD Guidelines Writing Committee of the American Heart Assn. and American College of Cardiology which were published in 2024 and serves as the Podiatric representative of APMA to the AHA PVD Council. He is active with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, having served on multiple committees including their Board of Directors for eight years, and is the immediate Past-Chair of their Communications Committee. He is active with the American Limb Preservation Society on the Health Equity and Advocacy Committee as Co-Chair of the Research and Data Analysis Sub-Committee, the CLI Global Society, and as faculty for the New Cardiovascular Horizons organization. Dr Evans is a nationally recognized speaker on a variety of topics including Peripheral Arterial Disease, Diabetic Foot, Limb Salvage and Preservation, Physician Burnout, Dealing with the Difficult Patient, and Mindfulness in Medicine. r. Evans is in private practice in southeast Michigan.

Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. Currently, Dr Frykberg is Clinical Professor and Residency Director , Department of Orthopaedics, at UT Health San Antonio, Division of Podiatry in San Antonio, Texas. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Stanley Kalish, DPM is the Founder of the Superbones Conferences. He is a well-known author, and inventor of the TLS drain, the Kalish Osteotomy for Hallux Valgus correction. Dr Kalish is the winner of the 2003 Podiatry Management Lifetime Achievement Award. He has three children and five grandchildren. Dr Kalish practices in Atlanta, Georgia, and Nassau, Bahamas where he is a surgical consultant. He is a consultant to several U.S. orthopedic and pharmaceutical companies.

Samantha Landau, DPM, MPH, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is a faculty member at New York College of Podiatric Medicine | Touro University in the Department of Orthopedics and Pediatrics. She graduated from SUNY College at Geneseo in 2013 with a BS in Business Administration, and with minors in both biology and chemistry. Enrolled in the dual-degree program of NYCPM and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai, she obtained her MPH (with an emphasis on healthcare management) in 2016, after only two years, the first student to do so in the history of the program. She obtained her DPM degree in 2018. Dr Landau completed her residency at NYCPM/Metropolitan in 2021 as chief resident. COVID intervened while she was at Metro, and for her efforts there, she received Schneps Media’s Health Care Hero Award. (Schneps is a major New York-based publisher of digital and physical media, especially of community newspapers.) She also has Standard Ankle Surgery privilege in New York and is Board Certified by ABPM. Dr Landau has many publications including some being deemed original research. With an interest in surgical biomechanics, Dr Landau completed a fellowship in “Post-Graduate Fellowship Training in Biomechanics and Gait-Related Disorders of the Lower Extremity in Children and Adults" at NYCPM. During her training she spent time at the Hospital for Special Surgery in the Leon Root Motion Analysis Lab, with both Drs Joseph C. D’Amico and Cusack, and in pediatric podiatry by Drs Volpe and Resseque. Dr Landau loves taking biomechanical concepts and incorporating them into surgical applications. Dr Landau is also on the executive board for NYSPMA King Division. NYSPMA is the top organization in New York State that represents the interests of podiatrists with the state legislature as well as with insurance companies.

Lawrence Lavery, DPM, MPH is a Professor with Tenure in the Department of Orthopedics, Division of Podiatry, at UT San Antonio, San Antonio, TX. Dr Lavery is a founding member of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) and is the Chari-elect of the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) Foot Care Interest Group. He has published over 350 peer-revieweed papers and textbook chapters.

Robert D Phillips, DPM graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1979. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatry Foot and Ankle Surgery, Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and a Member of the American Society of Biomechanics. Dr Phillips is a past Professor of Podiatric Medicine at Des Moines University and a past Residency Director at Coatesville VA Hospital. He has been working in the Veterans Health Administration for the past 23 years. With over four decades of experience in podiatric medicine, spanning private practice, academia, and the VA, Dr Phillips brings a depth of knowledge and passion for education that continues to inspire. Besides teaching and practicing, Dr Phillips wrote chapters on biomechanics for several podiatric texts as well as published a dozen research papers on biomechanics, five of which received awards for the quality of research. He retired from clinical practice in 2020, but continues to lecture and do research work as well as serve as associate editor for biomechanics for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Johanna Richey, DPM, FACFAS, DABFAS grew up in the southwestern United States in both Texas and Arizona. She began her career as an art and education major in college. Life drawing sparked her curiosity into life sciences and ultimately medicine as a career. She graduated from the Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University and completed her surgical residency program with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. She has been heavily involved in academics both as a residency program attending at the Kaiser SF Bay Area Program and now as Assistant Professor/Attending Faculty at Midwestern University. Dr Richey is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both Rearfoot Reconstruction and Forefoot Surgery. She is currently the Co-Chair of the AO DPM North America Division and continues to be active in clinical research with multiple peer reviewed publications and continued medical education lecture events. She has served on hospital committees for Peer Review, OR/Surgical efficiency, and Trauma Response team efforts. She has been in clinical practice for over 10 yrs, but her passion is centered in academics. She has worked in several different practice environments, including private and large organizational settings, serving in both inpatient and outpatient care roles, including trauma and elective reconstructive surgery.

Lee C Rogers, DPM, FFPM RCPS (Glasg)

Lee C Rogers, DPM, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He helped the ABPM found the Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care in 2017. He is a Fellow Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr Rogers has authored over 150 peer reviewed manuscripts or book chapters and focuses on creating systems of excellence for diabetic foot care and limb salvage.

Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS

Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill hospital. Dr Schoenhaus' research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. Moreover, Dr Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery. Dr Schoenhaus has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. In 2015 Dr Schoenhaus was the recipient of the Gallery of Success Award from Temple University.

Bhavesh Shah, DPM, MBA

Bhavesh Shah, DPM, MBA, is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon in practice since 2002 and Co-Director of Operation Footprint. Dr Shah received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Chicago and then attended Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL, where he received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 1998. In 1999, Dr Shah interned at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed a three-year residency at the Foot and Ankle Institute of Monrovia, California, in 2002. Dr Shah is board-certified in Foot Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, the American Professional Wound Care Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics (ACFAP). As the Co-Director of Operation Footprint, a non-profit global organization that provides free surgical care to indigent children in India, Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras with genetic or acquired conditions of the foot and ankle, Dr Shah performs life-changing surgeries. Under the auspices of Operation Footprint, he also trains local surgeons in complex deformities to help make a lasting difference in the communities they serve around the globe. Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABFAS

Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABFAS, is a former Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Touro New York College of Podiatric Medicine and is now in private practice. She earned her podiatric medical degree from Des Moines University and completed her residency at NYCPM/Metropolitan Hospital Center (PMSR-RRA), where she proudly served as chief resident in her final year. Dr Sheikh is board-certified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is passionate about every facet of podiatry — from treating patients to mentoring students and residents. She’s published in peer-reviewed journals, regularly presents at local and international seminars, and contributes to the field through her work on committees for ABFAS and CPME. Outside of medicine, she values time with her family and finds joy in photography, painting, and traveling. Though she’s practiced in New York for years, she still considers Alaska, where she was raised, to be home.

Robert Smith, DPM, MSc, RPh, SrFNAP, received his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Florida in 1983. He then received his DPM degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in 1999. He completed a PPMR at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ in 2000. Dr Smith obtained his certification in Pedorthics from BCP in 2001. He completed postgraduate training with the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, Cardiff, Wales, and UK in wound care and tissue repair. He received his Master of Science degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, UK in 2006. Dr Smith’s research centers on Infection Prevalence, Infection Control and Wound Care. He is a consultant to the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. He is a contributing editor and reviewer to JAPMA in the areas of Podiatric Clinical Pharmacology. He has authored over 100 refereed journal articles for the disciplines of Pharmacy, Podiatry, and Wound Care. He has lectured for APMA, FPMA, IPMS, and PFA. He has operated his sole practice: “Shoe Sting Podiatry”. He is the Founder and President of Studying Opioid Harm, Inc a non-profit educational company to build and develop tools to educate and mitigate the harm from opioids. Dr Smith is the chairman of the Podiatric Academy for the National Academy of Practice since 2020.

Wenjay Sung, DPM, FACFAS, practices in the Greater Los Angeles, Pasadena, Arcada, CA area.. He completed his advanced surgical fellowship at the ACFAS recognized Weil Foot-Ankle and Orthopedic Institute (2011, Chicago, IL) after graduating as chief resident from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2010). He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has been heavily involved in Special Olympics International Healthy Athletes and served as an international Clinical Director during the World Summer Games in Shanghai, China (2007) and Los Angeles (2015). Currently, he serves on the board of the Convalescent Aid Society (Pasadena, CA), a non-profit that provides free medical equipment for those in need and the Miss Asian North American Organization. More recently, due to the unexpected passing of his youngest brother David Wen Sung, his family is establishing a scholarship fund and not-for profit organization that aims to build awareness and acceptance for mental health issues in Asian American communities.

Michael Troiano, DPM, FACFAS is a 2004 graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed residency at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is in private practice at the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders in Philadelphia. He is Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of Surgery, he teaches Biomechanics, and MRI reading. Dr Troiano is a board certified in foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff and teaching appointments at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital, Temple University Hospital, Penn Wound Care Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Abington Memorial Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Specialty Center. He takes foot and ankle trauma call at Temple University Hospital and Penn- Presbyterian Medical Center, is a director of the Penn Wound Care Center and is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. He has authored and co-authored several journals, articles, and chapters published in various peer reviewed journals and books.

Marie L Williams, DPM, DABFAS, DHL

Marie Williams, DPM, DABPS, DHLS, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr Williams was the first clinical dean at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the school. Dr Williams has been in private practice since 1984. She is currently the Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. She has been involved in residency training since 1986 and a Program Director in Podiatric Surgery and Medicine since 1988. Dr Williams is a speaker in the field of foot and ankle surgery as well as limb salvage. She has published several articles on the healing of complex wounds and limb salvage, while also authoring a chapter: Bone Infections in "Foot and Ankle Radiology". In August 2014, Dr Williams was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts along with her teammates from Immaculata College. Their team, the Mighty Macs, captured three consecutive Championships. They were considered trailblazers for women sports, and in the 70s they help bring about Title 9 and equality for women in sports. In June 2015 they received the trailblazer award in the women’s basketball hall of fame. Dr Williams was recently requested to be a Keynote Speaker for Immaculata University and received the Doctor of Humane Letters for her humanitarian efforts in May 2018.

Daniel Yaeger, DPM

Daniel Yaeger, DPM serves in the Department of Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He earned his BS in biology and rabbinic ordination from the Lander College for Men. He then went on to complete podiatry school and his residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, serving as the academic coordinator his final year. Following residency Dr Yaeger joined the surgery department. Currently, Dr Yaeger works at NYC HHC Metropolitan and Lincoln. His duties include out-patient clinic, ER call, and management of inpatients. He has the privilege to work with 3rd and 4th year students as well as residents at the NYCPM / Metropolitan hospital residency. His primary interests are limb salvage, diabetic foot infections, forefoot deformity, Charcot reconstruction, Lisfranc and midfoot injuries, adult acquired flatfoot and delayed management of calcaneal fractures.
