Chris Bromley, DPM, FACFAS

Christopher Bromley, DPM, FACFAS currently practices foot and ankle surgery in Delray Beach, Florida. Dr Bromley's specialty within the group is Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Homeopathy. Dr Bromley has been passionate about nutrition and complementary medicine since entering private practice. He completed his surgical residency in 1992 in Baltimore, MD. His training included such prestigious hospitals as the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins. An international and national lecturer of foot and ankle surgery, wound care, and regenerative medicine. When not in the office and on the podium, Dr Bromley is an on-track performance driving instructor and motorcycle track day instructor. Dr Bromley is very proud of his three children Sarah, Kent, and Alexander.

Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Samantha Landau, DPM, MPH, FFPM RCPS(Glasg)

Samantha Landau, DPM, MPH, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is a faculty member at NYCPM in the Department of Orthopedics and Pediatrics. She graduated from SUNY College at Geneseo in 2013 with a BS in Business Administration, and with minors in both biology and chemistry. Enrolled in the dual-degree program of NYCPM and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai, she obtained her MPH (with an emphasis on healthcare management) in 2016, after only two years, the first student to do so in the history of the program. She obtained her DPM degree in 2018. Dr Landau completed her residency at NYCPM/Metropolitan in 2021 as chief resident. COVID intervened while she was at Metro, and for her efforts there, she received Schneps Media’s Health Care Hero Award. (Schneps is a major New York-based publisher of digital and physical media, especially of community newspapers.) She also has Standard Ankle Surgery privilege in New York and is Board Certified by ABPM. Dr Landau has many publications including some being deemed original research. With an interest in surgical biomechanics, Dr Landau completed a fellowship in “Post-Graduate Fellowship Training in Biomechanics and Gait-Related Disorders of the Lower Extremity in Children and Adults" at NYCPM. During her training she spent time at the Hospital for Special Surgery in the Leon Root Motion Analysis Lab, with both Drs Joseph C. D’Amico and Cusack, and in pediatric podiatry by Drs Volpe and Resseque. Dr Landau loves taking biomechanical concepts and incorporating them into surgical applications. Dr Landau is also on the executive board for NYSPMA King Division. NYSPMA is the top organization in New York State that represents the interests of podiatrists with the state legislature as well as with insurance companies.

Johanna Richey, DPM, FACFAS, DABFAS

Johanna Richey, DPM, FACFAS, DABFAS grew up in the southwestern United States in both Texas and Arizona. She began her career as an art and education major in college. Life drawing sparked her curiosity into life sciences and ultimately medicine as a career. She graduated from the Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University and completed her surgical residency program with Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. She has been heavily involved in academics both as a residency program attending at the Kaiser SF Bay Area Program and now as Assistant Professor/Attending Faculty at Midwestern University. Dr Richey is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both Rearfoot Reconstruction and Forefoot Surgery. She is currently the Co-Chair of the AO DPM North America Division and continues to be active in clinical research with multiple peer reviewed publications and continued medical education lecture events. She has served on hospital committees for Peer Review, OR/Surgical efficiency, and Trauma Response team efforts. She has been in clinical practice for over 10 yrs, but her passion is centered in academics. She has worked in several different practice environments, including private and large organizational settings, serving in both inpatient and outpatient care roles, including trauma and elective reconstructive surgery.

Amol Saxena, DPM

Amol Saxena, DPM is a podiatrist specializing in sports medicine and foot and ankle surgery for over 30 years. He has treated almost 100 Olympians and operated on several Olympic medalists. He is past-President of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, which experienced significant membership growth and increased educational opportunities during his tenure on the board. He is board certified in Foot, Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by ABFAS, is FAAPSM and FACFAS, Alumnus of the year of his Alma Mater Scholl College, Lifetime Honorary Member of the German Association for Foot & Ankle Surgery, member of the Royal College of Physician & Surgeons (Glasgow), Editorial Board of the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery, author of over 130 peer-reviewed manuscripts and chapters, editor of the text "International Advances of Foot & Ankle Surgery", developer of surgical instruments and techniques, and Fellowship Director for over 20 years.

Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS

Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill hospital. Dr Schoenhaus' research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. Moreover, Dr Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery. Dr Schoenhaus has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. In 2015 Dr Schoenhaus was the recipient of the Gallery of Success Award from Temple University.

Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABFAS

Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABPM, DABFAS currently serves as assistant professor in the department of surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Sheikh is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and completed her residency training at NYCPM/Metropolitan Hospital Center (PMSR-RRA). She served as chief resident during her last year. Dr Sheikh is passionate about teaching and training residents. She is published in peer-reviewed journals and is currently involved in an IRB approved clinical study evaluating changes to thickness of plantar fascia after laser treatment for heel pain. Dr Sheikh devotes her personal time to her family and her hobbies, which include traveling, photography, and painting. She also calls the great state of Alaska home.

Robert Smith, DPM, MSc, RPh, SrFNAP, received his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Florida in 1983. He then received his DPM degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in 1999. He completed a PPMR at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ in 2000. Dr Smith obtained his certification in Pedorthics from BCP in 2001. He completed postgraduate training with the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, Cardiff, Wales, and UK in wound care and tissue repair. He received his Master of Science degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, UK in 2006. Dr Smith’s research centers on Infection Prevalence, Infection Control and Wound Care. He is a consultant to the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. He is a contributing editor and reviewer to JAPMA in the areas of Podiatric Clinical Pharmacology. He has authored over 100 refereed journal articles for the disciplines of Pharmacy, Podiatry, and Wound Care. He has lectured for APMA, FPMA, IPMS, and PFA. He has operated his sole practice: “Shoe Sting Podiatry”. He is the Founder and President of Studying Opioid Harm, Inc a non-profit educational company to build and develop tools to educate and mitigate the harm from opioids. Dr Smith is the chairman of the Podiatric Academy for the National Academy of Practice since 2020.

Wenjay Sung, DPM, FACFAS

Wenjay Sung, DPM, FACFAS, practices in the Greater Los Angeles, Pasadena, Arcada, CA area.. He completed his advanced surgical fellowship at the ACFAS recognized Weil Foot-Ankle and Orthopedic Institute (2011, Chicago, IL) after graduating as chief resident from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (2010). He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has been heavily involved in Special Olympics International Healthy Athletes and served as an international Clinical Director during the World Summer Games in Shanghai, China (2007) and Los Angeles (2015). Currently, he serves on the board of the Convalescent Aid Society (Pasadena, CA), a non-profit that provides free medical equipment for those in need and the Miss Asian North American Organization. More recently, due to the unexpected passing of his youngest brother David Wen Sung, his family is establishing a scholarship fund and not-for profit organization that aims to build awareness and acceptance for mental health issues in Asian American communities.

Michael Troiano, DPM, FACFAS is a 2004 graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed residency at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is in private practice at the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders in Philadelphia. He is Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of Surgery, he teaches Biomechanics, and MRI reading. Dr Troiano is a board certified in foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff and teaching appointments at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital, Temple University Hospital, Penn Wound Care Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Abington Memorial Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Specialty Center. He takes foot and ankle trauma call at Temple University Hospital and Penn- Presbyterian Medical Center, is a director of the Penn Wound Care Center and is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. He has authored and co-authored several journals, articles, and chapters published in various peer reviewed journals and books.

Marie L Williams, DPM, DABFAS, DHL

Marie Williams, DPM, DABPS, DHLS, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr Williams was the first clinical dean at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the school. Dr Williams has been in private practice since 1984. She is currently the Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. She has been involved in residency training since 1986 and a Program Director in Podiatric Surgery and Medicine since 1988. Dr Williams is a speaker in the field of foot and ankle surgery as well as limb salvage. She has published several articles on the healing of complex wounds and limb salvage, while also authoring a chapter: Bone Infections in "Foot and Ankle Radiology". In August 2014, Dr Williams was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts along with her teammates from Immaculata College. Their team, the Mighty Macs, captured three consecutive Championships. They were considered trailblazers for women sports, and in the 70s they help bring about Title 9 and equality for women in sports. In June 2015 they received the trailblazer award in the women’s basketball hall of fame. Dr Williams was recently requested to be a Keynote Speaker for Immaculata University and received the Doctor of Humane Letters for her humanitarian efforts in May 2018.

Daniel Yaeger, DPM

Daniel Yaeger, DPM serves in the Department of Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He earned his BS in biology and rabbinic ordination from the Lander College for Men. He then went on to complete podiatry school and his residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, serving as the academic coordinator his final year. Following residency Dr Yaeger joined the surgery department. Currently, Dr Yaeger works at NYC HHC Metropolitan and Lincoln. His duties include out-patient clinic, ER call, and management of inpatients. He has the privilege to work with 3rd and 4th year students as well as residents at the NYCPM / Metropolitan hospital residency. His primary interests are limb salvage, diabetic foot infections, forefoot deformity, Charcot reconstruction, Lisfranc and midfoot injuries, adult acquired flatfoot and delayed management of calcaneal fractures.
